About the Practitioner

Julia Larson, Certified Massage Therapist

I studied at the Massage Therapy Institute in Davis, California and graduated in December of 2010.

I am also a small animal veterinarian. I graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. I was drawn to therapeutic massage through my own experiences with my massage therapists and my desire to create a more balanced lifestyle.

Regular massage therapy has provided me an opportunity to be in tune with my body and my health. Through the healing touch of massage I have been better able to manage the stresses of my hectic lifestyle and bring myself more into balance with my health, my relationships, and my career. The desire to create more balance in my life and to help others achieve this as well is what led me to pursue my massage therapy certification.

With my medical and anatomical background and love for science and health, the transition to working with people and helping relieve stress and pain comes naturally to me. Every person has individual needs from and expectations of massage therapy, and it is important to assess the need and tailor each massage to that person and their body's current physical and emotional condition.

Along with my medical training and knowledge, I am an avid runner and athlete. A healthy lifestyle with a proper balance of exercise, nutrition, and relaxation helps me prevent and treat many of my body's medical and stress related conditions. I am a firm believer in the benefits of investing time in activities and lifestyle choices that help maintain my personal and emotional health.

Community involvement is a big party of a positive and happy lifestyle.  I am a member of Rotary International and enjoy giving back to my local community through McCormick Rotary Club. Often the connections we make with people through giving of ourselves provide us with the most wonderful rewards.

My goal as a massage therapist is to help bring your life into balance with proper physical and emotional health by becoming a partner in your personal wellness plan. By addressing the body's tension and pain, and increasing awareness of your body's current state, we can move toward comfort and relaxation. We can achieve a more appropriate balance in our health, our relationships, and our careers.
